Joansey was left abandoned in the yard with her brother and another pet when her owner was arrested. The neighbors shot at Joansey, her brother and the other pet. Her brother, Jones, died from the wounds a week later. The other pet, Takeo, had to have surgery due to his wounds and lived. He was adopted as well. Joansey, who hid under the house, escaped without injury. However, she was traumatized and very timid because of her experiences. Because of the help of Rescue Me and others, she got her fur ever home. This is what Rescue Me does for these pets, gives them a chance at a decent live. I am endlessly grateful for their help.

By kismet alone, we happened to be at a high kill shelter when this dog was being surrendered. We talked with the family and asked if we could take him into our rescue and asked that they keep him until we could find a foster. They gave us one week. Within that week, we posted on adoption sites, including Rescue Me. This is where his new family saw him. They emailed us, filled out an application, and allowed us to do a home check before even meeting the dog. We did a final meet and greet a week after we first met the dog, less than 24 hours after we physically removed him from his home and brought him into a rescue. It was instant attraction on both sides. He is now home, nine days after he was to be surrendered to the shelter, with a family that will love and cherish him until his time comes to walk across that Rainbow Bridge. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Cooper is a dog in my small town that had been abused and rescued. He is a Treeing Walker Coonhound obtained by a teenager who had lost both parents while still in high school. The young man was unable to care for Cooper, and left him with the person providing him shelter as he went to work weekly. The person evicted Cooper, and the young man relocated to a nearby town. I brought Cooper home and provided LOVE, food, shelter, and medical care. He now has a home with lots of land. Cooper was posted available for adoption after two months of training and rehabilitation with TIGAS. His post was on Rescue Me for less than two weeks. Thank you, Rescue Me, for this opportunity to help re-home loving, healthy, animals in need.

Roxie was abandoned near a dog park as a puppy. Our neighbor found her, and we ended up taking her in. We knew our life was too busy to care for such a young and active dog. So we trained her a bit and socialized her and posted her on Rescue Me where a wonderful couple adopted her to join their other two dogs, including another Staffy. We're so happy that the Rescue Me website exists and helped Roxie find a true doggy paradise.

Today, George got adopted by a wonderful family with two younger children and another sheep dog. It was heartbreaking to let go of George. We have been there for him for over a year. But this is HIS family. They love him, they want him and their dog is very happy to have George living with him now. We rescued George from a miserable, lonely life on a chain. We already have three other rescue dogs, so we knew we needed to find him a new family. We talked to local shelters and the Humane Society, but we really wanted to decide who would get George. We posted him here on Rescue Me. Within an hour of posting him, a very nice woman called. She had waited for a sheep dog to come up on the site. Several other people contacted us as well, but this one person really wanted him. We spent a couple of weeks emailing and talking on the phone and her family seemed to be an obvious choice. So today, George met his new family for the first time. He seemed relaxed and at ease with them. He was a little unsure of what was going on, but it looked like a really good match so they took George home. As soon as they got home, they emailed us and sent us pictures and let us know their existing dog is very gentle with him, as if he knows George needs a little support right now. So, thanks to this website, George is finally in his forever home. He was rescued after about seven years of neglect, but now he gets to spend the rest of his life being loved and he will never be alone again. Thanks, Jeff, for making this site available! It made all the difference. The $100.00 adoption fee is a donation to the site.

Though many of you know the beginning story of my life was not so good, but, let me tell you about the next chapter! My foster mommy put my picture here on Rescue Me, and I must of caused a lot of buzz because her phone rang all the time and I could hear her saying my name a lot. Then she got a call that made her cry. She told me that she found the perfect forever home for me. I was confused, I thought she was the perfect one? After putting all my special toys in the car we took a really long car ride where I laid on her lap for the last time. I guess I must of fallen asleep and when I woke up there was a beautiful lady standing outside the car window. I was startled and barked my loudest bark I thought I had to protect my foster mom. I then realized we were there. My new home and that beautiful lady on the other side of the window was my mommy. My mommies talked for a long time that day as I got to explore. I was sad when my foster mommy had to leave and she was too. She was crying and knew that this was hard for her. My mommy sends her pictures all the time of me and she is so happy. The best part of this story is my new mommy. I didn't think I could be loved so much. She protects me, cuddles me and makes me happy all the time. My foster mommy was right, this is the perfect forever home. I love my new mommy and daddy and I have a human brother and lots of dog cousins that my mommy babysits for. I am so happy my picture was put on here because if not I wouldn't of ever of found my mommy. I love her so much. Thank you Rescue Me for helping make my story ending such a wonderful one. Love, Paisley

Jack found a place where he is needed. Jack is going to be a service dog. Jack was very well trained, so we had five people interested in adopting him within the first week. We made him a Facebook page, so people could see more of his pictures and a video of him going through his routine, sitting, down, heeling, wait, etc., all off leash. He was professionally trained in a local prison program. He seemed pleased with his new family. The video was the key to getting offers for him. I am very sad to see him go, but there was no choice in the matter. Jack was very attentive and affectionate. Most of the people who responded to our Rescue Me post had a need for his healing ways. I am so pleased I was able to find a home for him.

This cute girl was pulled from the shelter along with her four siblings after being found running in the street together. She is a sweet and happy little girl and deserving of everything great that comes her way. Thanks to Rescue Me, we had an application for her within days of posting her photo. We hope for the same reaction for her siblings soon!

I adopted two beautiful Chihuahuas through Rescue Me. I would highly recommend using this site. I originally went to see Tinkerbell, but after meeting Foxy I couldn't leave with just one. My husband and I fell in love with both upon meeting them. We already had three dogs at home. That night we had four dogs sleeping with us in bed with my Greyhound on his comfy bed next to us on the floor. I could tell from speaking to Nicole and her husband that they are truly devoted to finding good homes for these poor dogs, some with horrible beginnings. Foxy and Belle will always be loved and cared for. They stole our hearts. So happy I found them.

There is no doubt that Rescue Me saved the life of one of the most amazing dogs I have ever met! I am a dispatcher at the local Sheriff's Office and happened to answer the phone when a neighbor was calling to see if he could 'shoot' the neighbor's dog after exhausting all attempts to find it a home. I searched for Pit Bull Rescues while I was on the phone with him and found Rescue Me. I asked if he could give me a week to try to use technology in placing this dog. He agreed. I immediately posted the information I had on Revolver. Within five hours, I received a phone call from someone who was willing to adopt him. I had yet to meet the dog, so I was a bit hesitant as I was told he was aggressive. I had to figure out how I was going to transport a dog, knowing he may sense my fear of him. We picked a day and my 14 hour adventure began. I pulled up to the residence and was greeted by this amazing dog, Revolver, who was so happy to see people. His owner has been incarcerated for six weeks and the caring neighbor would go over daily to feed and care for two pit bulls abandoned on the property. Within minutes, Revolver and I were fast friends. He sat in the cab of my truck as we began our long trip of transporting him. Revolver became my co-pilot for the day. A long day driving and several rest stops later, I was amazed at how well behaved Revolver was. He watched for me from the truck to ensure I was not leaving him for long. He played and walked right by my side each stop we made a stop. Finally arriving at our destination to meet up with his new owner, I realized how sad it made me to have to give him up. He greeted his new owner and they seemed to hit it off. As I walked away, Revolver tried to follow, I gave him lots more love and watched them drive away. I am elated that I intercepted the phone call, and that Rescue Me is a resource and for all the kind people involved in giving these dogs a chance. My blessing ended when I was able to find a local home for the second dog. This was an amazing series of events that saved two precious dogs! Thank you! Without Rescue Me, Revolver would have been put down!

This has been an amazing day. Dali was discovered by her original owner on Rescue Me after I posted her information. Today is bittersweet because Dali is now home with her Mom and I miss her already. When I rescued Dali, she had big health issues, and I am committed to support the original owner with keeping the quality of life Dali deserves. I am really glad I was there to intervene. I have learned a lot about rescue and it is hard. Thank you to Barkley's Dog Wash and Boarding Spa. They are so amazing! The Community Animal Hospital, Dr. Randy Dugall and Dr. Martin for their expertise. We are setting up a Go fund me page for Dail for the costs of her care. Thank you, Rescue Me.

My brother was brokenhearted that he had to give her up due to a stroke, but finding a home makes it so much better. We couldn't bear to take her to a shelter. Thank you Rescue Me!      I'm sure no one has had a success story like mine. I had a few people contact me for my baby, Angel. There was one lady that stood out among the others. She and her husband and their son were more than what I expected to find. Angel would be treated just as she was treated at home with me. The only reason I was giving Angel up was I had to move and I could not afford to pay the deposit for having an animal. Stephanie and Robert came to my house to pick her up. As they were leaving, I was crying because I was going to miss Angel so much. About an hour later, I got a phone call from Stephanie saying that she cried all the way home and knew how she would have felt should it have been her baby. She then informed me that they talked it over, and they wanted to pay my deposit so I could keep Angel. They wouldn't take no for an answer. So, I still have my little girl with me and I have met two new friends. They also wanted to update her shots this year and every year. God sent them to me, I firmly believe. Stephanie and I text every day. I now have two new best friends. I love you Stephanie and Robert. Thank you, Rescue Me, for putting us together.

Buddy is now a spoiled 'only child' of a retired couple. This couple had always had a larger breed dog and were ready for the challenge that Buddy might bring. However, he seemed to understand what was expected in this home and hasn't caused any trouble at all. He crates himself in the evenings and is even socializing with the older cats. One thing that he has started doing in his new home is 'talk'. He never tried to communicate with fosters, but in this home, he has started talking. They say he is asking to go outside and asks for treats too. Maybe it is just that his forever home is listening! Great home! Thank you, Rescue Me.

She's smart, loving, a fan of cuddling, and a WORLD class food mooch. We are in love with this little girl, and we are so, SO pleased that your site enabled us to get hold of her. Thanks a million, Rescue Me!

Witnesses saw a red pickup truck push a Walker Hound out at the top of the mountain pass between here and the next city. The dog tried to climb back into the truck but the man kicked him and started driving. The poor animal chased after as the truck sped away. He was already skin and bone when that happened. For the next three weeks a number of people stopped and tried to help the dog but he'd always run away. He was scared to death of humans. Finally one evening when temps were expected to drop below freezing, two little girls convinced their Mom to stop and try again. After over a half hour hunkered down behind their car, using it as a wind block, they extended their hands with treats repeating, it's ok - it's ok. The poor skeleton that was once a dog, who had been surviving on road kill, gave in and came to them. Once the girls got him in the car they drove quickly to Angels Retreat Rescue. They put him in one of the pens where he had shelter, food and water but it took me three days to get him to let me touch him. Admittedly, I bribed him with a bowl of chicken and rice. I was getting desperate. As I sat, petting him that night, for some reason, I decided he should be named Maxwell. Max went to the vet for what we suspect was the first time in his life. Doc estimated him to be just over a year old and he only weighed 53 pounds. He got his vaccinations, a microchip and neutered. Thank God he was heartworm negative. After vetting, Max came indoors with the rest of the population and started crate training and leash walking. It took a while to get past the food aggression, but after six weeks with a full bowl he finally figured out he'd get fed. The other dogs helped me get him house broken and taught him to play. He'd play with anything. In fact, his last day here I laughed out loud when I looked out my office window and saw him running up the hill in the yard with an empty plastic bag from chicken leg quarters. Today Max, AKA Maxwell, AKA Maximus Wiggilus was adopted. He'd crate trained, house broken and not scared. He's happy and about to get happier. As I type this his new Mom is most likely just getting home from the eight-hour round trip drive to get him and introducing him to his very own, THREE little boys. And as every good story should end, they all lived happily ever after.

Chad came to us in horrible shape: skeletal, raw ring from an embedded collar and heart worm positive. It took three months for him to even make eye contact. During this time, he was always friendly and we could do whatever we needed, a bath, nails clipped, ears cleaned with no problem at all. It took seven months for the perfect family to find this beautiful boy, and Rescue Me was how they found him. Chad now has a loving forever family! Thank you, Rescue Me!

Mercury came to us after being chained up outside his whole life. He never got to lay in a warm, soft bed or lay on someone's lap feeling a human touch. That all changed last week when a wonderful family fell madly in love with this precious boy, and with tears in their eyes they kept saying we can't believe he's actually ours! They continue to send wonderful pictures of Mercury. He now knows what a warm bed feels like and the love of a family! Thank you, Rescue Me.

Autumn was at a full kill shelter where they were begging for help for her. I took her, had her transported, fixed and vetted. Within two weeks, I found the perfect forever home for her with the nicest people. They just loved her, and they waited for an extra week since she had to be fixed. They were so excited about getting her. I am really going to miss Autumn. That was one special dog. Thank you, Rescue Me and the adopters. Another happy ending.

Lilly was seven years old and had to stay on a runner. A family who rescues hounds came to the house yesterday to look at her. I thought she was going to lick them to death! I had never seen her take up with anyone so quickly. I thought, how in the world are they going to get her in the car? Heck! She jumped right up in there with no problems. The couple told me anytime I wanted to visit with her to give them a call. It was very difficult to see her go to a new home, but I knew she was going to have a much happier life being able to run and play. Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping find her a happy family.

My mother passed away unexpectedly, just six days after her 87th birthday, leaving her faithful companion, Annie, without a home. On the last day of her life, Mother asked my brother to leave the hospital to go home and check on Annie. She felt Annie would be worried. When mother didn't come home, Annie was sad and confused. All of our family members already have multiple dogs, so it was our prayer to find a loving, forever home for 11 year old Annie. The loss of Mother was difficult, but not knowing Annie's fate made it even more distressing. Just one day after posting an Annie's story on Rescue Me, I received several messages from folks saying they'd like to meet Annie. On about the third day, I got a call. Wendy said she'd lost her 14 year old Aussie a month ago and she wanted to give Annie a home. I told her that Annie had been without grooming for over a year and I wanted to get her cleaned up before anyone saw her. Wendy said I had enough on my mind, that she would have her groomed and not to worry about anything. Wendy already had a small dog, so I told her Annie hadn't been socialized, that she was raised on a farm and I wasn't sure how she'd react to another dog. Wendy wasn't discouraged. We delivered Annie to Wendy and the love story began. The groomer came the next day, and Wendy presented Annie with a red sweater and a collar with rhinestones on it. Annie met her new brother, Bandit, and they hit it off immediately. I've been invited to visit Annie any time and Wendy has sent text messages and pictures to me on a regular basis, giving me updates on Annie's new journey. I'm so thankful for our good fortune. I believe Wendy was our angel, an answer to our prayers through Rescue Me.

He even has more space to run around than before. The family's daughter decided within minutes of meeting Frankie that he will sleep with her dogs in her room. Enough friends to play with and more than enough hands to give him attention. I know he will be okay. Thank you, Ann, for taking my little boy and giving him the good home he deserves.      Justin got adopted by a wonderful couple. He was owned by a woman who recently died. The police took him after the death, but he escaped from police and got picked up by Animal Services three days later. He had a large gash on his hip that required stitches. He was hurt, angry, and hated the cone on his head. He bit at everyone who came near, especially men. He was in the killing room when a lady from Animal Services called me. He was rescued 'just in time', hence the name Justin. He was boarded for a month and became a sweetheart and loving and kind, once again. He now has a new family who loves him. The family contacted the deceased woman's family and told them that Justin was ok. Can't get any better than this ending. Thanks, Rescue Me. -Jan

We had our Wheaten Terrier for one year and three months. He came from a shelter. The very first week we had him, he bit our 24 year old nephew and our nine year old son. We thought he just needed to get used to us. He went on to bite three more gentlemen. Soon, we realized he focused his bites on slim males. We kept him because, although a nervous dog, he was so personable and great with the family. We really enjoyed him. Recently, he bit another gentleman, whose wife wanted to call the police on the dog. Due to the fact that we run a used car business at our home, we felt we needed to re-home our dog. Being honest about his aggression, I called the shelter where we got him and they said 'No'. We tried the Wheaten Rescue and were referred to Rescue Me. Within a half hour of posting our dog, I had two replies. Two days later, we met with one of those two people. Two days after that, she took him home for a trial visit. He has remained with them! They know all about him.. His fear, his nervousness, his biting... But they love him and are very eager to work with their vet and behaviorist to make life easier for him. We are very happy with his new family. He even has a Wheaten 'sister.' My kids cried when we told them we would need to re-home the dog, but after seeing pictures and hearing about his new family, they are quite happy for him. This was a great organization to use! Thank you so much, Rescue Me, for saving our dear dog! And an extra thank you to his new family for spending time with us as we say goodbye to our dear dog. This was not easy, but you have been so kind and caring about us. We are glad he has you!

Tobias was an owner surrender from the animal shelter. Upon our arrival at the vet and through a series of testing, we found he was heart worm positive, Lymes disease positive, and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever positive. He also has extreme hip dysplasia, was malnourished from fleas and ticks, and severely abused. Since then, a foster stepped in and saw to it that the vet's bills were paid after a huge donation. Two weeks later at a recheck at the vet, we found Tobias had gone from 77 pounds to 88 pounds. The vet discussed a blood transfusion and possibly having to euthanize Tobias. But, one month to the day, a blood test showed that four weeks of love and care provided by the foster home we found through Rescue Me had turned things around for Tobias. He was in the best home of his life. The foster is now a forever home! Tobias has now been neutered, and next week we begin heart worm treatment, and will get his shots. With the help of Rescue Me, Tobias finally has a place to call home! Thanks, Rescue Me!

Coco found her forever family today! An active, young couple took her home today! They are in love with her. She will get so much attention from them! She will get to go to work with her new Dad. Best of all, she gets to hunt. Her new Mom is clearly going to love her to pieces! It's all we could have asked for! This site is great! We felt much more confident that we could share all of the things about Coco so that the new adopter could make an informed decision before taking her home. Thank you, Rescue Me!

This little guy reached out from the computer and stole our hearts. Our adopted Great Dane lived with us 11 years and died eight years ago. We had been dog-less since. Debating for two weeks since seeing this picture (delayed, because an adoption was pending), we finally took the drive and brought him home. We did our research prior to selecting the Schnauzer mix, so we knew what we were getting. The non-shedding, hypo-allergenic hair was a bonus we hoped for. He is a bit alarmed about things that 'go bump in the night', but is smart as can be and picked up on being house broken easily. With our quick training sessions, in three weeks, he will come, sit, stay, stop at the doorway and on a good day will slap me five. His energy level is perfect for us; we needed to walk more anyway. We call this silly creature Fritz. My husband and I are half in and half out of retirement, a granddaughter visits us often, and Fritz certainly fills our home with joy and laughter perfectly. His size, stamina, and sturdiness, make him a super addition, as our traveling companion too. He's a perfect fit for us, and I think we are a fit for him also. Thank you for your Rescue Me efforts.

IT HAPPENED!!! Sweet Buster has been adopted!! He has the greatest family that is totally in love with him. He has a fur brother to play with and a human nephew to share his cupcake. He was one of two dogs with which I started my rescue. He had been in the shelter since June of last year when I pulled him. I have had this sweet boy for over a year. Thanks to Rescue Me, he found his forever home! Sometimes it just takes a little while to find their families. Thanks to his new mom for choosing him. It was definitely meant to be! I miss his face and wiggly butt so much, but I'm so happy for Buster that I can hardly stand it! Thank you Rescue Me!

To all of you looking for a best friend: My husband has cancer. I love my husband with all my heart. He lost his best friend, a black lab, a couple years ago. I know my husband's favorite dog in the whole world is a German Shepherd. I was determined to get my husband his favorite dog. I looked everywhere. Then, one day, I came across this Rescue Me site. I saw a post saying 'Rescue Me'... Well, it was a miracle. We adopted Jimbo, and he seems to be very happy. I love to see him running and playing with his toys. My husband is happier than I have seen him in a long time. Thank you for making it so easy to make my husband and Jimbo so happy. You are doing good things by helping people and Shepherds come together. -Donna

Thank you to Rescue Me. I adopted Petey along with his brother Clyde. They are 12 weeks old. They were abandoned along with six other pups. They were found in a trash bin. They are wonderful little pups. I recently lost my 14 year old Maltese. I adopted in his honor and I am glad that I did. They both have a great disposition and are fast learners. I love both of my pups. They are a great addition to our family.

I found Rex on Rescue Me a month after I lost my little Mini Schnauzer, Ralph, who rescued me in March of 2014. Ralphy had Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), and no one would rescue him because of his illness. I rescued him because of it. I was his dog human for 553 days; he was my little Journeyman. We went through many life changes together, and his loss changed me. The decision to end a dog's suffering is both difficult and brave. It is a decision that will change the way you see yourself. I was sitting at my desk last week and decided to Google 'Schnauzer Rescue'. It was then that I found Rescue Me... And Rex. I filled out the application the same day and Rex rescued me four days later. He is a blessing beyond measure and I am filled with gratitude that he and I found each other. Dogs are divine beings; we humans can learn many things about ourselves from the dogs. They are the best teachers! It is my opinion that people should stop breeding dogs until every dog who needs a home finds one. Rex is my third Schnauzer rescue. I also have my darling, Fritz, who I rescued in 2013. He is a 14 year old dog that was in and out of shelters, neglected and deserted. He was ragtag, old, scruffy and the most beautiful dog I had ever laid my eyes on. Rex has settled in. After the first 24 hours, he trusted me enough to roll over on his back and let me rub his belly. 72 hours later he was licking my face and running to greet me when I came through the door. He knows he is home, and he knows he is loved. Thank you, Jeff, for founding this wonderful organization that gives dogs a chance to rescue humans and gives humans the opportunity to see the good they have inside of them. Dog: God spelled backwards!

Thank you so much for Rescue Me! My nine year old Lhasa/Schnauzer mix, Grayson, just lost his best Shihtzu buddy to cancer two weeks ago, and it has been a very sad time for both of us. When I was told that Grayson howled all day while I was at work I knew that he needed a canine buddy sooner rather than later. He has never been alone before. We found several good candidates on Rescue Me and we went to meet them at a small shelter. Grayson seemed to get along best with Hershey, so after several visits he came home with us. So far things are going well. Hopefully we will train Hershey to become a pet therapy visitation dog at nursing homes, which is what Grayson and his buddy did together for years. Rescue Me made the search so much easier.

Thank you so much to Rescue Me! We pulled an American Bulldog mix from the euthanasia list at a nearby shelter because the volunteers told us how much of a sweetheart he was. When we picked him up from the shelter, he had sores all over his joints. I believe they were from his previous home because he was kept in a concrete kennel, and he seemed very sad. He had only been at the shelter for about a day but due to his looks, he was slated to be put down the next day. But the volunteers were more than right! He was such a gentle, laid back, and cuddle bug boy. Once he was out in the grass, rolling around, he was a new dog. It warmed the heart to see him playing with the other dogs and galloping around the yard. Through Rescue Me, a potential adopter contacted us from a neighboring state. They had been looking for a new addition for about five years! They had a female American Bulldog and wanted to find her a friend. They were a bit far, about 10 hours, but they were a perfect match. Luckily, we were able to meet half way and he went to his new home. He is now called Ace and his new family absolutely adores him. This success would not have been possible without Rescue Me. We were able to reach people far further than our networking capabilities. Thank you to all who helped save Ace!

Bucky came to me because his previous owner couldn't handle his chewing. He had caused hundreds of dollars of damage. She had rescued him when his leg had to be amputated because his first owner didn't want to take him to the vet when he broke his leg. I was fostering this sweet boy, who really just wants to be with his people. He wins over everyone with his gentle and cheerful personality. This dog had some good karma coming his way, because within one week of posting on Rescue Me, I was contacted by a man who is a great fit for Bucky. He works from home, so can allay some of Bucky's anxiety. This man loves Pits, and understands them very well. His previous Pit had a leg amputated from cancer, so he even was familiar with tripods! I couldn't ask for a better home for Bucky. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Rescue Me certainly helped me and a particular fur baby. I found Piper tied up underneath an old trailer with no food or water. It was obvious he had been there for a while. He had minimal social skills and wasn't in great health. After a few months with me he was good as new. When I first posted him on Rescue Me, I thought I wouldn't have any luck. Too many people buy from breeders these days. My head was low, but my hopes were high. Sure enough, I received a message from a potential adopter through Rescue Me! It's now been several weeks since Piper was adopted and he is thriving in his new home on five acres with three other brothers. His life drastically changed. He is the poster pup for a real genuine rescue and he deserves it all. Thank you Jeff Gold and Rescue Me for putting the time into such a fantastic site. Keep it up and never stop fighting to save animals. Adopt don't shop!

I rescued Bruno from a crate half his size where he was covered in his own feces and had cigarette burns on his neck. Bruno's owners wanted to breed him but willingly surrendered him to me. He was terrified of people and starved. I rehabilitated Bruno, then I adopted him out to his 'new family'. Long story short, they dumped him and left him to die. I received a call from the local police department because they did not change Bruno's microchip information. I was devastated. I wanted to keep Bruno for myself, but I already had nine indoor rescues of my own. I posted Bruno on Rescue Me and a couple instantly fell in love. I drove seven hours in one day to take him to his dream home. Thanks, Rescue Me!

When my elderly next door neighbor made the courageous and ethical decision that he could no longer care for his gravely ill wife and still meet his seven year old miniature schnauzers' needs, he asked my help in re-homing them. Because of their age and his reasonable requirement that they stay together because they are litter mates who've never been apart, I expected that finding the perfect adopter would be a challenge. And initially, it was. I volunteer as an adoption counselor at the local dog shelter and have a wide circle of dog loving friends so I immediately put out word to my network--and got zero response. So after a week or two, I went online and stumbled onto Rescue Me. Eureka! It took a few days for me to get the dogs' picture posted, but then the calls and e-mails began pouring in. And one of the first calls came from that perfect adopter: an older person who'd lost both of her beloved schnauzers recently, who was looking for an older pair, who was not only breed-knowledgeable, but who volunteered in dog rescue, AND who was already planning to travel from her home to visit a family member nearby this past weekend. Thank you, Universe! Thank you, Rescue Me! (And as a fringe benefit, I got to talk to many lovely people who will continue to look for the dog or dogs they're perfect for.)

I love to share the wonderful experiences I've had with the Rescue Me team. A few months back, I was searching for a companion to replace the two pups that I lost in a divorce. I found a Chihuahua/Schnauzer mix that rescued me and we became real buddies. Then a couple of weeks ago, we decided that it was time to find another companion for both of us. We turned again to Rescue Me and found the perfect addition in a Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix. These two girls have become fast friends that love to play, eat and sleep together. Everyone on the Rescue Me team has been so caring of the adoptions and personally care about these animals that it has turned me into a real advocate. I tell anyone who will listen about the organization and encourage them to visit the websites. Here's to your continued success and thanks for Rescueing Me!

I searched for many months and had trials with two dogs that were not suitable for the environment I live in. I had just about given up when I found Charlie and decided I had to meet him. He was an owner surrender. They were very gracious and brought Charlie to meet me and, because I am not in the best of health, my son, who will step in if something happens to me. We were both very impressed with Charlie and agreed to a one week trial. I knew by the third day that Charlie was going to be ours forever! He's a gem! Very smart, very obedient and very loving. He really fits into this busy building of senior citizens and disabled persons in the heart of the city. He has many new friends who think he's the bee's knees, too! Thank you, Rescue Me.

Bo Jangles... We rescued him as a 10 month old puppy from life in a crate that he had outgrown. After we helped him adjust to and discover life outside the crate, this boy has been a flawless companion for us. We love him like life itself. About two years ago, my hubby and I both suffered big losses in our health, income and home situation. Daddy is now in long term care and I am moving to senior housing. So sad, Bo Jangles can't come with me. From devastated to overjoyed, this is how our story goes. Because of Rescue Me, Bo Jangles found LuAnn and Sammy, and a wonderful new home surrounded by exercise trails and a new friends to take him for runs on the beach. I'm so happy for Bo I can't even be upset. LuAnn did the crying for me when we traded hands with the leash. I love you, my big fluffy boy! Take good care of LuAnn and Sammy! I know they love you already!

My 17 year old agility champion crossed the rainbow bridge in January. One day, to pass the time, I was curious if there was another fearless dog with the drive and loyalty that might make another agility champion. Most of the biographies I read described many sweet, calm, easy going lap dogs which were nice, but not what I was looking for. How I ended up on the Rescue Me website is still a mystery, or was it fate? When I read Sailor's bio I was more than intrigued. Her foster mom described the dog of my dreams: high drive, relentless, unable to sit still, fearless, basically able to 'leap tall buildings in a single bound,' cling to your side kind of dog. After talking with Sailor's foster parents for several hours, I made plans to travel to adopt her. Sailor has been with me from that day forward. Sailor has learned sit, down, wait, stay, ready, steady, free, and is the star of her beginning obedience class. Also, we have started basic agility training all of which she enjoys. Sailor has brought much joy into my life and makes me laugh everyday. Thank you so much Rescue Me!

When the alert came through for Millie, I took one look at her sweet face and thought that this might be the one for us. We went over to see her the next day, and sure enough, we fell in love and brought her home. She and our Golden Retriever took to each other instantly.      Wow! I must say Rescue Me was the fastest response I've ever experienced when posting an animal. I posted for a new home for a wonderful little dog who just showed up on our farm. He arrived in the morning during a thunderstorm and refused to leave. We tried diligently to find his home by placing posters and talking with our neighbors as well as posting on Facebook and Craigslist. After posting on Rescue Me in the morning, by that evening we had a perfect candidate for his new home. She drove an hour and a half to come get him and the response between her and the pug was great. We hope Pug will be very happy in his new home and we will check from time to time to be sure all is well. The pug is a great little dog, but he needed a house family to take him in and love him. I wish we could have adjusted our lifestyle to him, but it just wasn't meant to be. Thank you Jeff Gold for providing a safe solution for people who find themselves with an adorable little animal who just needs a new home.

After having her posted on every lost and found board, and with all the places anyone would look I have to agree she was dumped. But, the best news is she has been adopted and will soon live in a bed and breakfast, greeting people as they come and go, with 17 acres to run. The owners have owned one like her before, so they know her unique breed. Thank you for being there to post her and get her a great home.

Seneca was posted on Rescue Me less than one day before a slew of phone calls and emails came in inquiring about her. The first one who inquired was able to drive to my home to visit with Seneca today, and fell in love pretty quickly, and took her home. Thank you to this website for helping me find a loving home for my very loved pet.

Seth was adopted this week to be a service dog for a little boy with autism and they are the BEST of friends now. Seth is working out perfectly for them. So happy about this for him. From death row to helping a little boy in so much need of a special fur boy. Thank you, Rescue Me.

Rascal is on his way to his forever home! Rescue Me is a blessing! When my father became ill and incapable of caring for his special needs Shihtzu, he felt there was no alternative other than euthanization. I was determined that Rascal would have a chance to find a happy, healthy, forever home. Thanks to this fabulous website, I found there are a lot of wonderful people with BIG hearts were willing to love him unconditionally. Thank You!!

Sweet Luke, the top darker dog, was taken home by a military family this evening. He will be trained as an emotional therapy dog for an active duty gentleman with PTSD. I am so glad that he will be able to help heal someone's heart. Thank you Rescue Me!

Within one day of posting a special needs Mastiff on this wonderful site, I found her a perfect home! This was my first time to try to re-home a pet and it was a great experience. I feel very confident in the family I chose. Thank you, Rescue Me! I would highly recommend this rescue site!

Juno has found a wonderful new home through Rescue Me alongside another Redbone sister and, best of all, a pair of humans who really know and love Coonhounds! She has landed in the country with room to explore, scents to follow, and a warm bed to return home to on evenings. Do I miss her? Yes. Am I happy for her? Absolutely! Thank you for providing this much needed, heartfelt website, Jeff.

This was my first time ever posting on any site. I do not work with ANIMAL CONTROL, I AM JUST A CONCERNED CITIZEN WANTING AND TRYING TO HELP. As soon as I was finished posting all the animals in our local animal control, it seemed like only minutes before I started getting emails about Harley and Dutchess.. Today, Joe from our animal control called with good news. Now I will go there daily to check and see who I can help. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Thanks to Rescue Me, Hercules has found a great home! He was found a few months ago near starvation. We fattened him up and got him through the cold winter and in the process fell in love with him. However, we only let him in when it was very cold and he was lonely. He would sit and stare in the window at me and usually fall asleep sitting up. He was such a deserving dog and I truly wanted him to have a home where he could snuggle inside all the time. I posted him on the Rescue Me site and the next day got a call. A very nice lady had a dog the same breed as Hercules that she wanted a companion for. He is now inside and plays all the time with his new friend. I cried when he left but I couldn't be happier for him and his new family!

Garth and Paisley's human companion died suddenly and left many of us bereft and at a great loss for how to find a proper, loving forever home for our brother's faithful dog companions. Since Garth and Paisley are a bonded pair, it was absolutely critical that we find them a home together. A friend-of-a-friend helped us get the dogs posted on Rescue Me and the PERFECT family contacted us saying that Garth and Paisley were just what they were looking for for their large ranch home. Rescue Me provided the answers to our prayers, the new family's prayers, and what we believe would be the wishes of our departed brother. We're forever grateful for the great work of Rescue Me.

Precious had been hit by a truck, suffered a badly broken leg, and been shot at as she scavenged, starving, looking for food. She wandered onto our property and I knew I had to do something. I reached out to my community via the internet and wow, the response was incredible. A number of donors came together to cover nearly $1000 in expenses for Precious. Her leg was amputated. She had many return trips to the vet for setbacks. But in a few weeks she was healed, gaining weight, energetic, and happy. The only site I used to post for her adoption was Rescue Me. A man hundreds of miles from me who recently lost his BMC wanted her. We met midway for the introduction and it was love at first sight. Precious went to her forever home that day, loved.

Shylow was re-homed THREE times and SOLD in his short five and a half months of life prior to entering the Bloodhound Rescue. He is now in his FINAL STOP at his forever home living with a former BH owner and his red tick hound sister on a beautiful ranch. Thank you Rescue Me for having this amazing social networking platform available to save these precious and sensitive Bloodhounds from being victims of circumstance. Shylow is our third posting and all three of our Hounds of love have found the best matched families inquiring hours after posting. We look forward to utilizing Rescue Me again and will recommend this amazing site for those who need. Thank You to the founder, Jeff and his staff.

Our story is rather odd. I was sitting in the hospital room with my terminally ill husband and thinking that I should find a companion for my Theodore since he would now be alone while I was at work. Since he is a Corgi, I went to Rescue Me and selected the Corgi icon. Kale was listed as a Corgi mix. The picture made it obvious he had been accidentally listed on the wrong page. Having been terrorized by an unpleasant neighbor's nasty Chihuahua as a very young child, I have always disliked the breed. But one look at that face, and the fact he'd been waiting so long for a forever home, I lost my heart. He is sweet, smart and a champion cuddler. I believe there was a reason he was put on the wrong page for me to find because he is exactly what we needed. Theodore and I adore him. My husband passed on New Year's Eve and Kaleb has eased the pain of the huge hole in our hearts.

Thank you, Rescue Me. Diablo went to a lady who had lost three members of her family within the last two years and was struggling to get out of bed. Having been thrown or kicked resulting in a break in two places in one of his legs, Diablo had his special needs also. They found each other!!!

I was able to find a home for a difficult to adopt, adult Pit Bull through Rescue Me. After Cancer treatments I was left too weak to care for my beautiful, four-legged friend. A new owner took the time to get to know my girl and has fallen in love. My wish came true!

I posted Quincy for my 89 year old widowed next door neighbor who had just moved into an assisted living facility and had asked me to please find a loving home for his five year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She is a sweet little dog, but she had two years earlier injured her right eye and the vet was unable to save it, so her eye had to be removed. I wasn't sure if she would be adoptable, but the response from Rescue Me was incredible! I received seven calls in less than 24 hours and was able to schedule a meeting with a family who sounded like they were ideal for Quincy. They came to our home and met and played with her in the afternoon, and said 'We have found a new member for our family'. I appreciate Rescue Me so much and am going to list them as my designated donor site for my Therapy Dog club. I could not recommend them more highly! Excellent, and the website was very user friendly. Thank you so much! God bless you, Jeff Gold, for this wonderful service!

I had a great result getting a home for the Belgian Malinois puppy. I got close to thirty responses within two days and was able to place her with a local family, where I can check on her for the first couple of months. I was quite surprised and pleased with the many responses for this wonderful breed. We rescued her, we're not breeders, and I'll come back to Rescue Me any time we have a dog for adoption.

Emma's owner is going to go to a nursing home and she was devastated because her pets were going probably to the pound since she does not have a family. I took Emma and Teddy to my home ready to find loving families for them. Thanks to your Rescue Me, I found great and loving families for both of them in less than 24 hours! BIG thanks to you, Jeff and Rescue Me! You made a BIG difference in their lives!
